If you regularly read articles from FunInformatique, you probably know that Tor is a browser, focused on security and anonymity.
Tor Browser will allow you to browse the internet blocking all trackers and other cookies, bypass surveillance, blocks and censorship.
In short, it is a top web browser for those who never want to be tracked.
Until recently, it was only available on computers. Now a stable version is also available for smartphones Android.
The Tor team have just released the first official browser version Tor for Android. The first alpha version of Tor was released in September 2018. As expected, there were a lot of bugs and stability issues. But this time it is a real stable version.
Si Tor Browser is available under Android, it is not the same under iOS. Indeed, the fault is restrictions imposed by Apple.
The Tor team says on its website: "While we can't offer an official Tor browser on iOS due to Apple's restrictions, the only app we recommend is Onion Browser, developed by Mike Tigas with help from the Guardian Project.
The Tor browser is presented as an alternative to VPN in order to escape surveillance. It also suffers from a sulphurous reputation because it also serves as a gateway todarknet access and the illegal activities that are often associated with it (sale of weapons, drugs, etc.)
