In recent years, the popularity of tablets and laptops has grown steadily. Their success can be explained in particular by the need to be connected and to access the Internet anywhere and anytime. There is a wide range of tablets and laptops on the market. Difficult then to make a choice!

How to choose between a tablet and a laptop?

A laptop is generally more powerful than a tablet because it has better components: processor, RAM memory, graphics card, etc. If you want a powerful tool, especially for playing video games, it is advisable to choose a laptop rather than a touch pad.

But a tablet has better autonomy, thanks in particular to an OS designed specifically to save energy. It is therefore practical for reading a book, watching a movie or communicating via social networks, without fear of running out of battery. It also has the advantage of being more convenient to carry than a laptop computer.

Connectivity is also a point not to be overlooked. USB, HDMI, Ethernet and VGA sockets are often lacking in tablets. If you also want a CD and Blu-Ray player, you might want to go with a laptop.

If you want to be able to store a large number of files, it is also better to choose a laptop, which has at least 500 GB of storage. Tablets, in fact, are sold with only 16, 32 or 64 GB of storage, which can go up to 128 GB with microSD cards. However, you should know that it is possible to store online, via free or paid services, such as Dropbox or Google Drive, for example.

The prices of tablets are generally between 150 and 500 euros. Prices more affordable than a laptop, although it is possible to find computers in this price range. There are also higher priced tablets that are as expensive as laptops.

To choose between a tablet and a laptop, you must first of all think carefully about what is expected of your tool: good battery life? An affordable price ? Good storage space? You should know that there are hybrid computers, combining the best of both worlds. Maybe a good compromise? Then take a look at the Asus Transformer series or the Microsoft Surface Pro series.
