Use the task manager
To check precisely what programs are currently using your network and the amount of data they download, consult the task manager. For that, I invite you to follow these steps:
- Open the task manager, right-click on your taskbar and select "Task Manager»Or press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
- Then in the list of processes, click on the heading "Network»To sort the list of processes that consume the most your bandwidth.
- Finally, all the software that uses the local network or the Internet will be displayed in the window.
See your internet connection usage over the last 30 days
Windows 10 traces the history of applications that use your internet connection and the amount of data they transfer. You can see which programs have used your network in the last 30 days and how much data they have transferred.
To find this information, follow these steps:
- Go to Start> Settings> Network and Internet> Data usage.
- Then click on "Consumption detailsAt the top of the window. (You can press Windows + I to quickly open the Settings window.)
- From there, you can scroll through a list of apps that have used your network in the past 30 days.
- If you're on a Wi-Fi network, you can see which apps are consuming bandwidth.
