There are times when you want to put certain apps out of sight on your iPhone. Maybe you don't want others to know you're using a particular app, or maybe you just want to declutter your home screen.
Whatever the reason, there are several easy ways to hide apps on your iPhone.
In this article, we give you techniques for hide information on your iPhone. We will not go into moral considerations, as to the reasons that lead you to do this... Happy reading!
Remove an app from the home screen
The first method is the most obvious: just remove an app from your home screen. This does not remove the app from your iPhone, it just puts it in a storage space. You can still access all of your apps by going to the App Library (explained later).
To remove an app from your home screen:
- Hold on the app until a pop-up menu appears
- Then tap on “Delete app”
- After a confirmation phase, the application will disappear from your home screen.
If you want to put the app back on your home screen, you can do so by going to the app library and tapping the app icon. It's kind of like deleting a shortcut, nothing more.
Use folders to organize and hide apps
Folders are a great way to declutter your computer, and they work just as well on the iPhone home screen. You can use folders to group similar apps together, or use them to completely hide apps.
Store apps in folders
To create a folder, touch and hold an app until the context menu appears. Then drag the app onto another app that you want to place in the same folder. A new folder will be created with both apps inside. You can then rename the folder as you wish.
To add more apps to a folder, touch and hold an app until the context menu appears. Then drag the app into an existing folder. The application will be added to this folder.
If you want to hide an entire folder of apps, just move the folder to a place where there are no apps. For example, you can move the folder to the edge of the screen or to a page that does not exist. The folder and all its contents will be hidden.
The iPhone Apps Folder Second Page Technique
Another solution with folders: make your applications invisible in the folder. We explain to you:
- First of all, you have to create your file.
- Put the app you want to hide there.
- Then, move this application to be hidden on the second page of the folder.
- Thus, your application is hidden, since it becomes very complicated (and above all counter-intuitive to access it in the traditional way).
Use the App Library
The Application Library is a space that contains all the applications installed on your iPhone, even if they are not on the home screen. It's a great way to access apps without them cluttering up your home screen.
To access the app library, just swipe right on your home screen until you reach the end of the app pages. Then keep swiping until you see the app library. There you will see all your apps organized into different categories.
You can check out the site anytime by swiping right on your home screen, even if app pages fill the entire screen.
Apple Store: hide applications in the list of payments?
When you go to make a purchase in the App Store or update a paid app, you will be asked for your password. This is normal and it is a security measure to prevent unauthorized purchases.
Once authenticated, you have access to your purchase history. Here's how to hide certain apps:
- In your purchase history, locate the apps to hide
- Swipe left on each unwanted app
- A "hide" button will appear, you just have to click on it and confirm. That's it !
