Although Windows 10 is one of Microsoft's most trusted operating systems, over time it could malfunction, become infected with malware, or display a blue screen. Therefore, you may need to repair Windows 10 to resolve these problems. Fortunately, there are different ways to réparer Windows 10.
In this article, I explain how to fix Windows 10 using command prompt, because it is a foolproof troubleshooting technique.
How to fix Windows 10 using SFC?
SFC (System File Checker) is a command line utility that scans all protected system files and replace damaged files with a full copy.
When you notice problems with Windows 10, you can use SFC to diagnose problems and repair them. Here is the procedure to follow:
- Open Start , look for thecommand prompt, select it and run as administrator. To do this, in the search bar of Windows, enter “commands”, right-click on it and click on Execute as administrator.
- Then type the command: sfc / scannow and press Starter.
- The verification will start, wait a bit. Finally, any errors will be corrected automatically in the event of a problem.
Be aware that the SFC tool is limited since it only controls system files, particularly DLLs. If your problem is caused by a driver or an error in the registry, unfortunately it will do nothing for you.
In this case, you can use DISM to repair the image Windows 10.
How to fix Windows 10 using DISM?
DISM verifies the integrity of Windows in order to fix corrupted images. The utility can be used to repair and prepare images Windows, including recovery environment Windows and the installation of Windows. Likewise, DISM can be used to repair the recovery image in an operating system installation and even to repair a virtual hard disk.
Here is the procedure to follow for réparer Windows 10 using DISM commands:
- To check if there is any corruption, run the command line as administrator, then type the following command and press “Enter”.
DISM / Online / Cleanup Image / CheckHealth
- To analyze the image Windows for any corruption, type the command below and press “Enter”.

Hello, I have an ASUS (w11) portable pc which creates problems for me with (I think) the touchpad, it makes me CLICKS untimely which launches me other programs opens photos without my wanting it.
with an external mouse it's better but from time to time it still makes 2 clicks or even 3 in stride which selects fields, erases data etc...
I changed the sensitivity and the speed of the double click but nothing works, and I don't want to remove the touchpad because when I'm not at my desk I don't take it.
the drivers are said to be up to date. what to do ? is there something to initialize?
Thank you for your site
Hello André,
It is possible that this is due to a hardware problem, but there is also a software solution called "MyASUS" offered by Asus that you can try.
This tool can help you check system status, troubleshoot network issues, adjust performance settings, update drivers, diagnose hardware issues and more.
To use MyASUS:
I have a problem I started a reset of Windows thanks to the keyboard and my computer does not want to start
I tried using the command prompt but it didn't work.
Sorry to hear that. Try booting into safe mode (F8 on startup). If that doesn't work, you can try the automatic repair tool from Windows from installation media.
Hello,
I arrived on your page, which I read completely, comments also, after having been unable to validate my OEM key, of my W10F installed on my motherboard.
To make it quick and simple, what I have just told you also means that:
– I created an installation key using “Mediacreationtool” provided by Microsoft
– I launched the procedure, with the key as boot
– I click here and there, I arrive at the window which asks me to enter my activation key (which I had obtained beforehand) Windows 10 Family. I hit the key and,…NOTHING….
It is not recognized... I spent the day trying to rebuild a "holy" PC, because I had installed a cracked version (I was young and crazy) of Windows 10 Pro. I want to give my computer to my father, but I want it to be as original, I'm stuck in my approach...
If you would be so kind as to explain to me what I should do?
Thank you in advance.
Hello AD31,
At first, I recommend you to check if the OEM key you entered is correct and valid. The OEM key may not be valid if it was previously used on another machine or if it is hacked.
To verify the authenticity of your key, you can use the Volume Activation Management Tool. You just need to download this software from the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/download/details.aspx?id=11936
Then go to the “Product Keys” menu and enter your key and click “Verify”. If your key is valid, the information relating to the edition of Windows will be displayed. However, if your key is invalid, an error message will be displayed on the screen.
Hello, I have a serious problem with my pc, there are these software (offices) and files if I try to open it displays the message “the endpoint mapper no longer has an available endpoint”
I try to reset and can't do it either. At other levels I am told that:Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. »
I ask for help
thank you in advance
Hello Dabone,
These error messages may indicate a corrupted file or damaged disk problem. Here are some steps you can follow to fix this issue:
If that doesn't work, you can try resetting your computer using Advanced Reset Options. Windows.
Hello, it's been 2 hours that I try the different solutions to reset my PC but nothing works. Automatic restore does not work, neither does uninstalling updates. Also failed by system restore (because no restore point was created) so I can only "cancel". I also went through the command prompt, but finally the file: *.* .. is not found.. Could you please help me, I really don't know what to do anymore? I thank you in advance.
Hello WaM,
It looks like you are having trouble resetting your PC. An alternative solution to reset your computer is to create a recovery USB drive Windows. You can follow these steps to create a recovery USB drive:
Once the recovery USB key is created, you can boot your computer to this key to reset your computer. Be sure to back up all important data before proceeding.
Thanks for the solution
Super cool, but the restoration date is not displayed
Same, no restoration date, so not cool
Guys if you haven't made a backup beforehand, restoring is useless
Hello Markus,
It is important to note that if you have not made a prior backup, the restore function Windows cannot be used.
Restore is a tool to restore files from a previously made backup. It is therefore important to regularly check that you are making backups regularly so that you can use the restore function when needed.
