Changing SIM cards or mobile phones is always what can commonly be called a hassle. Indeed, very often, it is a problem, because we are afraid of losing a lot of data in the case.

One of the most annoying things is transferring and backup all contacts. And unfortunately for years, this had to be done by hand and it was not only time-consuming, but also not very exciting.

Fortunately, since smartphone developers have thought of you and have implemented several systems allowing you to make contact transfers in an easy and fast way.

Whether you have a phone Android or an iPhone, FunInformatique Will help you keep your contacts safe.

Under Android, choose the memory card to backup contacts

As you will see in the rest of this article, you will have several scenarios that will be available to you depending on the laptop you had as a base, but also the laptop you are going to have.

Here, we start with a classic case. You have a phone that runs Android and you will upgrade to a new laptop which also works under Android. These two phones then have a slot where you can put a micro-SD card. If not, you can proceed directly to the next steps.

However, if you do indeed have two laptops that can accommodate a memory card, then what we advise you to do is simply tosave your contacts to the memory card. This way, all you have to do is put it in your new mobile to recover everything instantly.

What is good with this technique is that in this way, you can also put your applications and your photos, for example, on the memory card. Thus, you can transfer everything at once which is a huge time saver.

If you keep the same operator, choose the SIM card

The problem is that if the previous technique seems to be perfect, today we have more and more phones running under Android who choose not to install a memory card reader, which means that it is not applicable.

In this case, what we can advise you to do is to apply what we call the good old method. Indeed, it is the method which appeared first for back up contacts.

It is then enough to choose your SIM card as a backup location and when you put it in your new mobile, the contacts will transfer quickly.

The problem, if you change operator or if your phone is stolen or lost with your SIM card inside, then you will lose all your contacts.

Use a Google account to save contacts as Android

In these cases, what we will advise you is simply to serve you from Google's Cloud tool to transfer data whether it concerns your contacts, but also your photos or any other data that you would like to transmit from one cell phone to another.

To do this, the procedure is not very complicated, but there are still some prerequisites. The first thing to do is to go to a PC or your laptop's internet browser and create a Google account if you haven't already done so.

Public chat Android, make sure that the Google account linked to your device is the same as the one to which you will transfer data in a few minutes.

Here is the procedure to follow :

  • Go to Settings and  Accounts and backup ou Cloud and accounts.
  • Go to Account management ou Accounts.
  • Select Google and activate the Sync Contacts.

  • Then go to Contacts.
  • Click on the three small dots then Contacts management ou Contact settings (depending on your phone model.
  • Choose to move the contacts to your Google account.

Therefore, when you synchronize your new cellphone with your Google account, you will be asked if you want to import the contacts. Say yes and it will happen automatically.

Backing up contacts is automatic on the latest iPhones!

If you ever want to transfer between two fairly recent iPhones, the good news is that it's probably the easiest way since you don't have to do absolutely anything.

Indeed, when you turn on your new iPhone, you will be asked if you want to transfer from a previous brand mobile. Simply click Yes and make sure to pair the two phones as prompted.

Once this is done, we ask you to wait a little for this, we advise you to leave your cell phone charging to prevent it from running out of battery during the operation.

Then, you only have to wait around ten minutes depending on the quantity of information you wish to transfer and once everything is validated, you find your phone numbers, your files and even the apps you had on your old phone!

Use iCloud to Backup iPhone Contacts

If you ever want to do this transfer between two iPhones but unfortunately one of them is too old to be able to access this automatic transfer, don't worry, there is another solution.

To do this, you will need to go to your phone and use the iCloud storage system included in your phone. To help you find your way around, here are the steps to follow:

  • Go to Settings then [your name] then on iCloud.

  • Then check that the item Contacts is activated (cursor on green); if not, enable it
  • Then click Merge.

  • Recover data via your new iPhone by simply connecting with your Apple ID and password.
